Slavery to Freedom Lecture: Mae Jemison  (Conferences / Seminars / Lectures)

Instead of dreaming of becoming a doctor or a dancer or a chemical engineer, Mae Jemison did them all - and much more. Jemison was the first African American woman to travel to space on the space shuttle Endeavour. Jemison is an advocate for STEM education, for helping young people build critical thinking skills and addressing health care disparities.

The Slavery to Freedom lecture series is designed to give members of the mid-Michigan community with opportunities for interaction with multicultural leaders from education, business, industry entertainment and government.
